The Peace Corps was created on March 1, 1961 by Executive Order 10924. John F. Kennedy got his idea for the Peace Corps from an organization called Operation Crossroads Africa. He first articulated this idea in a campaign speech at University of Michigan. The positive response from the students was overwhelming and encouraged him to follow through on his plan of establishing the Peace Corps.

The Peace Corps was founded to reach out to countries in need and spread democracy. Listen to the podcast to find out more about how the Peace Corps affected both the volunteers and the host countries and how it's foundation was tied to events happening at the time. You will also learn about opposition to the Peace Corps and what it does today.

Delaney and I have ALMOST finished recording our podcast.  We edited what we have so far and our time is 15:47.  We have the rest of our script written and are confident that it will propel us into the 20-25 minute range.  We should finish it up this evening so we can then write our final blog post!

Tess and I are almost finished with recording our podcast! All we have left to do is record the conclusion and edit out all of our giggling and stuttering segments.

We have started recording!

Last night, Delaney and I began recording our podcast.  We have quite a bit of giggles though that we will have to learn how to cut out.  We hope to finish with recording tonight so we can devote tomorrow to editing our podcast.

In class yesterday, Tess and I started working on a script for the podcast. We also chose some sound clips and decided on other ways to spice up the podcast. We will start recording tonight.

Delaney and I are currently meeting ( It is Sunday at 3:05 PM).  We are compiling our research, creating our bibliography, and determining the order of the content of our podcast.
